Mobile Office

If you are the type of person who loves mobile apps, texting, and getting your email on your phone, then you’re in for a treat: accounting has finally come around to your smartphone! Here are a few great developments you can try so you can stay on top of your business numbers.

QuickBooks Online – If you already use QuickBooks Online, you might want to check out the mobile app.

QuickBooks Connect is an app that helps you stay on top of your accounts receivables. You can create estimates and invoices, view and update customer information, mark an invoice paid, and check up on customers’ balances. This app work on the iPhone, iPad, and Android. I did notice that the name for the Android version has changed to QuickBooks for Windows. You can check it out for free for 30 days, and then it goes to a monthly fee. If you are an Enterprise user and have an active Full Service Plan, 3 licenses for this app are included with the plan!

Bank Apps

If you’re banking with a major bank, chances are “there’s an app for that.” Downloading your banking mobile app will allow you to stay on top of balances, receive alerts, and manage your cash flow more effectively.

Payment Apps

More and more businesses are collecting customer payments via their smartphones. While there are a few different payment apps out there, only Intuit’s GoPayment will integrate with your QuickBooks, saving you time and money. You can enter payments on your smartphone or swipe their card with a small reader from Intuit you can plug into your phone! It’s a great way to get paid quickly – your customers can pay via Visa, American Express, MasterCard, and Discover.

You can customize the receipts the client receives with your logo to make them look professional. You are charged by the transaction, or monthly, if you sign up for a merchant account. Contact our office if you are interested or want to know more so we can help you get the best deal.

Add-on Apps

There are many other mobile apps that extend many of your business and accounting functions, such as invoicing, time-tracking, bill payment, expense management, document management, and even work order management. Too many to review here, but if you are interested, contact our office. We can help you find one(s) that not only work on your phone but integrate with QuickBooks.

Office to Go

Now you have a choice with your accounting: you can “eat here” or take it “to go.” If we can help get you equipped as an office road warrior, give us a shout.
